Result: Here’s how it happened: Mayweather owned him throughout… 4th round, Ortiz delivers the nastiest head butt of all times…referee Cortez took a point off Ortiz….both fighters hugged and kissed…Ortiz was gazes into the crowd and Floyd smashed him with a left hook then a straight right…lights out! Everyone’s got an opinion on Ortiz’ stupidity, Floyds decorum, Merchants unprofessionalism, Cortez’ absolute confusion and De la Hoya’s biasness. But the bottom line is that Floyd displayed what he always does and when he meets Paqman for the greatest fight of all times someone’s going to cement their name alongside Sugar Ray, Joe Louis and Muhammad Ali. I said it!!

Winners: Everyone happened to back a late Mayweather stoppage and so nobody predicted the 4th round demolishment (Dazla so lucky you didn’t go with your heart!?!). Therefore no change in the table and Marie still leads the way with a whopping 137 points.

Next up: This Saturday, 1st October the middleweight banger between Sergio Martinez and Britain’s Darren Barker. Martinez is the Ring magazine middleweight champ and the last time we saw him on biiigtime he knocked out Paul Williams with the greatest KO of recent times. He’s up there on the pound4pound talk but he is 36 years old and not getting any younger. Darren Barker is now London’s brightest thing in boxing. He’s 23 and zero, he’s owned the British, European and Commonwealth scene and now is stepping up to the world stage. Too big a step up? Get it on upsets happen!
