Result: Marcos Maidana just about beat Erik Morales on points last weekend. It was a an unbelievable fight as at times we saw Morales turn back the clock – with one eye closed up from about round 3. I so wanted Morales to take it but it came down to who would win the 12th and Maidana let them fists go.
Who won: Rudds was the only person to call the Maidana points win. He also called the Grand National winner (Ballabriggs) and almost pulled the Masters winner out the bag. Manifestation of bigtime skills! This could kick-start Rudds’ season as he looks to become the first ever 2-time biiigtime champion. Eddie Brock is still at large. BLT has taken himself away from the bottom dwellers and Stratosfear produced another poor prediction resulting in sole ownership of bottom spot.
Next biiigtime fight: This weekend (Saturday 16th) is Amir Khan v Paul McCloskey. King Khan needs no introductions. He’s probably had the most fights on BTB and he always entertains. He dealt with Maidana in December and is looking to do the same with this guy, before setting up the super fight with Tim Bradley. McCloskey is relatively unknown outside of Northern Ireland. He’s unbeaten though and has mentioned many times that becoming world champ is his destiny. He’s also mentioned Amir’s glass chin many times….an upset maybe???
